~ In brief ; About the Malta Skateboard Association ~ The Malta Skateboard Association Committee (CMSA) are a collective of Malta’s most experienced skateboarders. A union/ association is needed to show realistically what the art form/sport is all about. This is done by displaying the true identity of the sport by skateboarders themselves. They represent skaters of the island by emphasizing skateboarder’s rights (along with youth rights) and their needs in Malta. They also work on ways to accomplish these needs. The main aim of MSA is simple… *To ensure the survival of skateboarding on the island of Malta…* This main goal is futher divided into the following: - *To ensure the progression (the all-importance of all sport) of skateboarders around the island* - *To have the Msida Skatepark as the main training ground where skaters get the opportunity to evolve through tricks, design and building.* - To promote skateboarding’s true and real identity in Malta that can only be done by skaters themselves - To make a standard of Maltese skateboard competitions on a yearly basis, judged by the competition guidlines of the European Skateboarding Association (ESA), International Skateboarding Federation(ISF), & World Cup Skateboarding(WCS). - To aid the scene where skaters can look forward to locally. - To prepare skateboarders to represent Malta abroad by either demo's or entering competitions. - To listen to the suggestions of skaters on the island - To have places that are on par with skate facilities in Main land Europe and where foreign - To help anyone to organize a competition, event or advize on building/designing tips |
